Privacy Statement

The Handcrafted Soap Makers Guild is a membership organization and as such we end up with a fair amount of information about our members, including name and address, insurance info, soap maker and roster listings, posts, emails, purchases and other info. We take our responsibility for the protection and security of our members' information very seriously.

No personal information of any of our members is given out to anyone outside the HSMG (with the exception of the insurance information, which goes to the insurance company). Only a limited number of people within the HSMG have access to the personal information of members, and only for the execution of their jobs or responsibilities within the HSMG. As an additional security measure, all access to member information is logged and recorded.

When an individual signs up to receive our magazine or requests information about the HSMG, their name is entered into our database. We will send occasional mailings (by mail or email), but will remove the name of any person if they request to have their name taken off the list. As with our members' information, email and contact information for those who contact us is also protected and kept secure.

The HSMG does strive to collect and staticize industry information and may take non-personal information from our database to compile statistical information which may be made available to those outside the HSMG. In such a case, absolutely no personal information of any kind, nor any way to extrapolate personal or business information, shall be included in the statistics or documentation.
