HSMG Facebook "open group"
« on: July 27, 2011, 03:28:36 PM »
I read a notice on the HSMG Facebook "open group" saying there were no "pending requests" to join the group.  This is untrue.  I requested to join multiple times, and in fact posts are appearing on my News Feed, which only happends while a request is pending and once accepted.  I also notice that all discussions pertaining to the Safe Cosmetics Act have been removed.  I actually don't think you have the legal right to delete members comments.  You don't "own" the page...the members do.

Sue, the administrators of the group have the legal right to delete whatever on Facebook......Facebook itself is not owned by the HSMG membership.  And if you are not an administrator, you would not see the pending requests.  I am an administrator of another group (not soap or business related) and you as the administraor can toggle the settings however you want, including to be able to see who is a member and who is not, who can post or if comments can even be posted on topics. As far as I know........

Sue,

There are no pending membership requests on our Facebook Group page.

The discussion on SCA 11 has been moved to the MEMBER Forum where HSMG Members are currently discussing the legislation.  We have found this to be much more productive venue for this type of discussion than the Facebook Group Page and have encouraged members to join this new Forum and chime in.

Thank you.
