The Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetic Guild is the only international non-profit trade association serving the handcrafted soap and cosmetic industry.
Membership is open to individuals anywhere in the world who make any type of handcrafted soap or cosmetics, as well as to the vendors who provide products and/or services to the handcrafted soap and cosmetic industry and includes a wide range of both direct and indirect benefits.
The HSMG Annual Conference is the largest event in the handcrafted soap industry. Normally held in late spring, it runs for three days and is open to both members and non-members. The location changes each year, cycling through eight regions in the United States, which makes it accessible and affordable, no matter where you are located.
Also known as "handmade soap" or "homemade soap", handcrafted soap is a blend of both science and art.
Handcrafted soap comes in a wide array of colors, scents, shapes, sizes and formulations. It can be playful and fun or designed for serious skin care. Whatever your needs, chances are there is a soapmaker making handcrafted soap that is perfect for you.
We are pleased to present the marvelous video produced by PTV about handcrafted soap and the Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetic Guild! A version will air on the PBS series In Focus over the next year or so. It gives a great overview of handcrafted soap, the handcrafted soap industry, as well as the story behind and reason for the HSCG.

Searching for suppliers and suitable ingredients and packaging materials can be a chore, which made easier by the HSMG's service of listing HSMG Vendor Members searchable by not only name, but also location and products offered. Looking to learn to make soap, expand your soapmaking skills or learn to make new bath and body products? HSMG members who are Certified Soapmakers and are participating in the HSMG Teacher Program are at your service. Search for teachers in your area and find out when there are classes available at a location near you.
