Tour of the Mile High City

Monday, May 3, 2010, 9:00am - 2:30pm

For those attendees who want to stay an extra day to take in the sites of Denver, we've arranged a tour for the day after the Conference.

Tour Info

Participating attendees and guests of the Handcrafted Soapmakers Guild will depart the beautiful Inverness Hotel, bound for the bustle of downtown Denver! The adventure will begin with a visit to Colorado’s spectacular Capitol building in the heart of the city. Modeled after our nation’s capitol, the dome is leafed with gold and the steps at the front of the building feature an official altitude marker where you can stand exactly one "Mile" High!

The next stop will take guests to The Brown Palace Hotel, which was completed in 1892. The building is a remarkable example of Victorian architecture, based on the Italian Renaissance style, and is listed on The National Registry of Historic Places.

From the Brown Palace, guests will be taken to the best part of Downtown Denver, Lower Downtown, or "LoDo", as the locals call it. This beautiful area was once home to the turn-of-the-century "red-light" district and now includes Coors Field (home of the Colorado Rockies), The Pepsi Center (home of the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets), and Larimer Square, which brims with trendy stores, delectable restaurants and a hopping nightlife.

Once guests have had a chance to get familiar with the city, our professional tour guide will encourage guests to leave the bus for some free time on Denver’s 16th Street Mall! Lined with a variety of restaurants and shops, guests will have time to freely stroll along this unique street, stopping for lunch or shopping as they choose. A pre-determined pick-up location and time will ensure all guests are accounted for before making the journey back to the Inverness after a fun-filled day in the city!

What's Included

  • Bus transportation for the tour
  • Professional tour guide
  • Bottle of water (1 per person)
  • All taxes, service charges and gratuties

Note: The tour doesn't include lunch, but there will be time at the 16th Street Mall to get a bite if you want.
