2012 Conference Special Seminars
This year we have added special half-day seminars for conference attendees. These seminars are optional, and in addition to the regular conference content. There will be three different seminars running concurrently (which means you'll have to pick just one).
The A to Z of Melt & Pour

What is mp soap? Is mp soap really soap? Why do some call it soap crafting? Is all mp soap regulated by the FDA? Is all mp soap really just made of detergents? Can mp soap and cp soap be mixed together in one batch or bar? What can a cp soapmakers really learn something of value in this class?
We answer all of these questions…..plus more!
This class is perfect for anyone seeking to learn all they can about melt and pour soapmaking. The class spends the first 2 hours speaking to the history, theory, and trends of melt and pour soapmaking. We break for a complimentary lunch and then return for an interactive, fun, and informative hands on demo session. Upon completion of this class all attendees will have significantly increased their knowledge base. They will be prepared to take the M&P Certification Test 1 and 2. If you plan to take your certification exam at the conference, be sure to register in advance.

Dynamics of Blending; Creating Unique Signature Essential Oil Products

(Blending essential oils effectively takes knowledge of individual essential oils, their note category, therapeutic expression, and at times, their chemistry. Throughout this lively and interactive talk we will explore the creative process behind blending. We will cover a number of essential oils as they are woven into two basic approaches for successful dynamic blends. We will also spend time discussing how to create seasonal blends to enhance your product development. Sample recipe ideas and essential oils will be shared.
Price
The price for each seminar is $79. That includes coffee/tea service in the morning and lunch.
Limited to 25 attendees
These half-day seminars are intended to provide an opportunity for a in-depth look at each subject, with plenty of time for individual attention and Q & A. Each seminar will be limited to 25 attendees, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Schedule
The optional seminars will be held in the morning and early afternoon on May 8th, and will be completed before registration that evening (the Conference starts on the morning of May 9th).
If you plan to attend one of the special seminars, be sure that your arrange your transportation so you will be ready and rested at 10:00 am on the 8th. We recommend arriving at the hotel on the 7th, so you're not rushed and have a chance to settle in. Discounted room rates will still apply for the night of the 7th.
