Lots of care goes into each bar that is produced so when you use our handmade soap you know it was made with you in mind.

What makes handmade soaps from Sweet Home Soaps different from other handmade soap vendors? Ingredients. What you put on your skin matters. I use aloe juice and milks as a replacement for the water in my recipe. I use a large portion of conditioning oils and butters (20% butters for most recipes). The butters I use are high quality, organic in most instances, and less refined to retain the wonderful properties of each. I use enough coconut oil to lend a nice lather, but not so much that it strips your skin of natural oils. I use a higher than average superfat to further balance my bar. I utilize luxurious additives like real cruelty-free Tussah silk and/or colloidal oatmeal to elevate my bar. Because I do not participate in markets or shows, I have to rely on the internet to sell my soaps. When you shop online, you shop with your eyes. That's why my designs are eye catching, elegant, or "over-the-top." They're still usable soap. They are not complicated to use, they feel good in the hand thanks to the hand-beveling of all the sharp edges, and they don't contain harsh ingredients like sulfates, parabens, or phthalates. Handmade soap is not just for gift-giving, it's for using. Because you're worth it.

We offer soaps made the old fashioned way with updated ingredients. Using basic,  ingredients such as oatmeal, honey, herbs, beeswax and an array of food grade, finest quality, sustainable oils and butters. Every bar has something from the hive either beeswax, honey or both. The soaps are scented with essential oils. We prefer to use natural colorants. However nature identical micas can be fun. Each product is made personally by us from start to finish. We self-test all products before we sell them. Each variety of soap is produced in small batches of 18 to 20 bars. The freshly made soap is hand cut into bars and allowed to cure for 6 weeks. Because the soap is hand cut no two bars will be exactly alike.

I make my soap at home, on the St. Lawrence River. I enjoy my small studio with which customers can stop by and purchase my soaps. Hi! We’re Brian and Leah, a newlywed couple who embarked on a journey to create something truly special together. In August 2024, we started our small-batch soap business, making products for friends, family, and coworkers. The overwhelmingly positive feedback encouraged us to expand quickly, and before we knew it, we were selling at local farmers markets. Now, we’re focusing on expanding our reach with in-store products, an online website, and social media to connect with even more people. What started with cold process soap quickly blossomed into lotions, balms, shampoo and conditioner bars, body butters, and more. Leah has taken the lead in creating these thoughtful, limited-ingredient recipes, each one designed with purpose and care. Brian has also developed his own popular line of men's beard products, balms, and oils. Previously, Brian was mostly unsatisfied with the conditioning ability and overpowering scent in most beard products. Started pouring soap in empty sneaker boxes lined with plastic back in 1999 in the High Desert of New Mexico. Now pouring 1000 lbs per session. I cut them down and do everything else including shipping them out. Only helper is a labeler who comes in a couple times a month to get them dressed up for their new homes. Big six ounce bars with unique colors and 14 flavors that proved themselves over the 3 dozen or more that I labeled up as part of the lineup over the last 25 years. I love every aspect of a soap career and plan to continue until I 80 years old.....maybe longer.

Blue Loon Botanicals does not use solvent extracted essential oils so there will never be any trace of chemical solvents in our soap, lotions or candles. Batholith Soaps was started with the intention to combine a love of geology with a love of creating. I use my background in geology to inspire my soap designs, as well as provide an opportunity to create a unique teaching tool. Having lived both in town and out in the woods in a cabin without running water or electricity we learned to make do with many things we have on hand and to reuse as many items as we could. Reclaiming wood and other materials is just as much of a passion of ours as is encouraging others around us.

NOTE: while almost all of our ingredients are organic and could fit under organic labeling, we will not make that claim as many others do. Truth is to be labeled organic, products need to go through a lot of legal hoops and many people do not know that they are really not supposed to use the term on their labels. Also, “organic” is over used and misleading in marketing today and we will not be going through certification to claim our soap is organic, which is the proper thing to do for labeling. That said, we do use all or close to all certified organic ingredients and at the very least use non-GMO for those one or two items we can not find or afford to pay for certified organic.

We try our best to buy from USA companies and when it is not possible to do so we believe strongly in using fair trade companies where possible with sourcing some of our ingredients and packaging.

We support organizations like Compassion International, Voice of the Martyrs, and OpenDoors with part of our profits and time volunteering. Because of Trish’s involvement with Voice of the Martyrs we are very aware of human conditions, both work and religious freedoms, around the world and strive to make sure that we are not contributing to the horrors of poor working conditions and underpaid or slave labor both in our home purchases as well as for the business.

Double Bar J Cashmere Farm has been in business for over 25 years. We started out with just a couple Cashmere goats and focused on making goats milk soaps. I'm a very small scale soapmaker (just me) and have another full-time job which limits my production. I've been making soap since 2014, and am continually trying to increase my skills and knowledge. HSCG helps me do this.  I mainly sell online, through one retail partner and at a few local markets/fairs.

At Urban Kitchen, our mission is to create the best handmade soap and skin care products using the finest ingredients nature has to offer. Our soaps are all hand made from scratch using the old fashioned cold process method of soap making. These method allows the soap to retain all the natural glycerin that is so beneficial for your skin. All of our soaps are made from 100% vegetable oils such as olive, coconut, palm, and castor oils. Each batch is handpoured, hand cut, and packaged in recycled paperboard.  The small differences in each bar confirm the handmade charm of our craft. In 2019, we added a solar array to the property.  Four poles rise thirty feet in the air, each supporting 15 panels.  With all that sun now, we have installed a tiered lavender garden with plants of five different species.  This is an organic venture, of course, and we also grow comfrey, chamomile and calendula in the sun, with goldenseal, ginseng, valerian and cohosh in the shady places of this eastern forest habitat. Welcome to Rock and Root Farm, home of Herb Garden Naturals. 

Our base oils still come from other places - sustainably harvested, fair trade and organic coconut oil, palm oil, olive oil, shea butter, cocoa butters and many other important plant oils.  We use herbs, oats, mineral pigments, clay, goat milk (from Olympia Farm in Guilford) and other naturally abundant materials in our products.

Back in 2008 we started by making soaps and soon found ourselves making creams for all types of skin, waterless skin therapies, scented oils and lip balms.  Our Jewelweed Juice treatments for poison ivy are as popular as our Bug Me Not skin sprays.

We believe that healthy living starts with abundant fresh air, a good connection to the earth and the natural world, regular exercise and smart food choices. Healthy living includes petro-chemical-free skin care like our natural cold-processed soaps, creams, serums and herbal remedies.  Remember that if you can't pronounce the ingredients on the bottle - if its not just a Latin name for a common plant - you might not want to contaminate your body with it.

My soaps are all outdoor inspired. A tribute to my late husband James Brown (JB), co-founder of Cowboy Soap Company. Frenchies’ was co-founded by Lou Demers and Matt Dubois. The name of our company is derived from Lou and Matt’s surnames of French-Canadian descent.
