Handcrafted soap and cosmetics are artisanal products, generally created in small batches by handcrafters.
Unlike commercial products, handcrafters have the opportunity to create highly unique products using
ingredients tailored to the needs of their customers.
Handcrafted soap is a blend of both science and art. As a science, making soaps and cosmetics follow the
laws of chemistry; as an art, the creativity through the unique combination of colors, scents,
shapes, sizes, formulations is boundless. Even though there only a few types of Soap
and a limited number of Common Soap Ingredients, even a quick glance
at the Soap Gallery
makes it clear that every soapmaker puts their own touch on their products making them individual and unique. Whatever your needs, chances
are there is a handcrafter making the handcrafted soap that is perfect for you.
Handcrafted cosmetics are generally less artistic and more functional, but because they are made in small
batches by artisans who seek to blend the best possible ingredients
into unique and high-quality products, the resulting creams, lotions, serums, in-bath fizzies, bombs and salts, scrubs
and a myriad of other products tend to be reflect the skill and passion of the handcrafter. Our
Cosmetic Gallery pictures some of the many products made by our membership.
Because the products are made in small, handcrafted batches, they can take advantage
of processes and ingredients that are unworkable in large, commercial manufacturing.
