Bloodbath: Overview

We've seen knife-wielding professional chefs, icing-covered bakers and even colorful body painters face-off in competitions that test their skills and creativity, but who says they get to have all the fun?

It’s time for soapmakers to step in and get their hands dirty in a competition that will pit maker against maker in a groundbreaking industry event: Bloodbath.

Bloodbath is an elimination-style soapmaking competition that will showcase the talents of four teams consisting of one Maker, and one Assistant. Teams will face challenges that will put their formulation skills and creativity under the intense scrutiny of an expert panel of judges. Teams will be eliminated through a series of fast paced events – only one team will be left standing.

Semi-finalists will be selected from the applicants and final auditions for Bloodbath will be held at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Dallas, Texas held on May 15th (the day before the Conference) from 8am to 6pm. The show will film in Hartford, Connecticut just prior to the Annual Conference in 2020, and the premier screening will be at the 2020 Awards Dinner, the last night of the Conference. The show will be available on the HSCG Website and YouTube and will be heavily advertised through our social media platforms.

All participants will be able to use a special Bloodbath logo, but the winning team will receive a special, champion logo for use in advertising and on social media, and of course, bragging rights as the first winner of the first soapmaking competition ever. Winners and participants will also be featured on our social media profiles and on a special page on our website!
