A Bit About Our Chapter

The HSCG California Chapter holds gatherings 3 - 4 times each year. We are always looking for venues throughout the state of California. If you would like a chapter gathering in your area and have a good idea for a venue, please send us an email at HSCGCalifornia@soapguild.org. We also have a Facebook page where we announce our activities at HSCG Local Chapter California. We would like to add you to our email list so you can receive announcements of our activities. Please send an email with Newsletter in the subject, and please include the area you live so we can better serve our California community.  You can also include topics and instructors you would like to see at our gatherings. The more we know what our members would like and where they live in California, the better we can bring you great local gatherings.

Upcoming Activities

We are missing everyone at gatherings and will have something planned for when we are able to get together. In the mean time I hope you all are staying safe and working on your soap and cosmetic formulations. If you have a space and would like to host your place for a gathering please contact hscgcalifornia@soapguild.org.  We are always striving to find new venues small and large. As the next couple months pass, keep an eye for our next time together!

Be Well,

Cindy Christ

HSCG CA Chapter President

What We've Been Doing

In September 2019, we held our annual conference at the beautiful ICE restaurant in Toledo, Ohio.  Demonstrations were given by our officers that included natural deodorant making and shower steamers.  We also had a guest speaker who spoke on the CBD Industry and what it means for us as makers.  Additionally, our President, Sue Finley, spoke on how to hold successful in-home spa parties in your home, in the home of others and at corporate locations.  It was a day packed with information, good food, good friends, networking and prizes.

We welcome all soap and cosmetic handcrafters in Kentucky and Southern Ohio, using I-70 as the boundary to participate in our activities and attend our events.

We welcome all soap and cosmetic handcrafters in the states of Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island to participate in our activities and attend our events.

What We've Been Doing

We had a great time at our first meet up!  Together we made a ghost swirl soap (and just used insulation no oven to acheive the effect), bold and bright colors to make a funky funnel pour, and we continued with the bright color theme making pink bubble scoops!  Thanks to all who attended and looking forward to more meet ups!  What are you interested in learning more about?  Do you have a special skill?  Would you like to lead a session and teach others?  Message us with your ideas at: HSCGNewEngland@soapguild.org
