My pottery and sculptures are usually inspired by something from the ocean. I feel when I am building these items, even if it is just a little soap dish, there is a story in my brain that I am telling on the clay by a combination of drawing on the surface (sgraffito) and attaching sprig molds. Soap making is a nice compliment to my custom soap dishes and it completes my visual story telling, in addition to being very functional and valued.
