Contact: Mindy Wright

Mindy Wright teaches soap and lotion making classes at the soap studio on her small family farm in Sonoma County and other venues in the Bay Area. She produces goat milk soaps and lotions for her farmstead soap business The Goat Farm during the week and opens up her soap studio on the weekends to teach a variety of classes. Classes on her small farm are kept small (no more than six students), allowing students plenty of attention (and a chance to visit the goats during breaks!). Classes are scheduled throughout the year, and private lessons for individuals or groups of friends can be arranged as well.

In addition to the farm soap studio classes, Mindy teaches at several North Bay schools and studios, including the Santa Rosa Junior College and College of Marin.

"Soapmaking is a blend of chemistry and creativity--I really enjoy teaching students the process. We spend a fair amount of time in my classes covering the science behind saponification, and the safety precautions of working with NaOH so that students will be much better prepared, and feel much more at ease when they start soapmaking in their homes."
