Elm Design Candles was born from heartbreak, healing, and the courage to take a chance on myself.

In 2019, my husband and I lost our best friend to stage 4 melanoma. During that difficult time, I found comfort in creating fragrances and discovered how something as simple as scent could bring moments of peace and joy. What began as a personal outlet soon became something more. I decided to take a leap of faith, follow my passion, and turn it into a business.

Today, Elm Design Candles is a handcrafted home-fragrance brand rooted in the natural beauty of Whidbey Island, Washington. Inspired by our island home, we create thoughtfully crafted soy candles, reed diffusers, and room sprays that capture the feeling of the Pacific Northwest, from windswept beaches and evergreen forests to the warmth and comfort of home.

We believe fragrance is about more than how a space smells. It's about the memories it brings back, the feelings it evokes, and the little moments that make life meaningful.

What started as a way to find my footing during one of the hardest chapters of my life has grown into a business, I am incredibly proud of. Every fragrance we create carries a little piece of that journey.
