Insurance Exclusions
The following products are excluded from insurance coverage:
- Drugs, pharmaceuticals, vitamins, supplements, invasive products, suppositories, or Nutraceuticals intended to be ingested;
- Any product requiring a prescription;
- Any product containing cannabidoil (CBD);
- Any product containing talc;
- Alcoholid products;
- Ingestible hemp products;
- Natraceuticals;
- Vitamins or supplements;
- Plug-in electrical products;
- Toys except when included for no additional charge, as a promotional item, with sale of an approved health or beauty product;

HSCG Code of Ethics
All members of the Handcrafted Soap and Cosmetic Guild must agree to and abide by the HSCG Code of Ethics. The Code of Ethics was approved by the membership by a majority vote at the 2005 Annual Membership Meeting.
Preamble
The Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetic Guild is a trade organization whose object and purpose is to:
- to promote and educate the public about the handcrafted soap and cosmetic industry;
- to act as a center of communication among, and to circulate information beneficial to, members of the handcrafted soap and cosmetic industry;
- to foster the handcrafted soap and cosmetic industry through education and training; and
- to represent the handcrafted soap and cosmetic industry in matters concerning legislation and regulations affecting the industry.
Membership is open to individuals and businesses of the handcrafted soap and cosmetic industry.
Code of Ethics
A member of the Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetic Guild shall:
- Promote the handcrafted soap and cosmetic industry and assist in its recognition and acceptance.
- Encourage a spirit of respect, cooperation, ethical conduct and fair dealing with and between all soap and cosmetic makers, whether members of the HSCG or not.
- Conduct herself in a manner which inspires confidence in and reflects well of the handcrafted soap and cosmetic industry.
- Conduct his business in accordance with all local, state and federal laws.
A Handcrafter Member of the Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetic Guild shall:
- Follow good manufacturing practices in the production of his soaps and cosmetics.
- Ensure that her soaps and cosmetics are safe for use by the consumer.
- Accurately label his soaps and cosmetics in accordance with the current regulations of the authorized governmental body in his country.
- Provide accurate information to her customers regarding the ingredients, benefits and use of her products.
A Vendor Member of the Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetic Guild shall:
- Follow good manufacturing and/or re-packaging practices in the production and/or packaging of soap and cosmetic making ingredients which he sells to soapmakers.
- Provide sufficient information to her customers to enable them to label their soaps with accurate ingredient labels in accordance with the current regulations of the authorized governmental body in their country.
A member of the Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetic Guild shall:
- Honor property rights, including copyrights and patents and give proper credit for another's work even in cases where the work has not been explicitly protected.
- Use and protect the marks and trademarks of the Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetic Guild in accordance with the guidelines set by the Board of Directors.
- Uphold and promote the principles of this Code.
NOTES:
For the purposes of this document, reference to a member of the Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetic Guild alternates between the feminine and masculine forms and applies to both genders.
In the United States the federal agencies would be the Food and Drug Administration and the Federal Trade Commission; state agencies may also have authority. In other countries similar governmental bodies may exist.

I ATTEST THAT, AS OF TODAY I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF ANY ALLEGATION, CLAIM OR SUIT OR ANY ACT, ERROR OR OMISSION, WHICH MIGHT REASONABLY BE EXPECTED TO RESULT IN A CLAIM OR SUIT.
ANY PERSON WHO KNOWINGLY AND WITH INTENT TO DEFRAUD ANY INSURANCE COMPANY OR ANOTHER PERSON FILES AN APPLICATION FOR INSURANCE OR STATEMENT OF CLAIM CONTAINING ANY MATERIALLY FALSE INFORMATION, OR CONCEALS FOR THE PURPOSE OF MISLEADING INFORMATION CONCERNING ANY FACT MATERIAL THERETO, COMMITS A FRAUDULENT INSURANCE ACT, WHICH IS A CRIME AND SUBJECTS THE PERSON TO CRIMINAL AND CIVIL PENALTIES. ANY PERSON WHO KNOWINGLY AND WITH INTENT TO INJURE, DEFRAUD, OR DECEIVE ANY INSURER FILES A STATEMENT OF CLAIM OR AN APPLICATION CONTAINING ANY FALSE, INCOMPLETE, OR MISLEADING INFORMATION IS GUILTY OF A FELONY OF THE THIRD DEGREE.
THE PERSON PURCHASING IS AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF THE APPLICANT AND REPRESENTS THAT REASONABLE ENQUIRY HAS BEEN MADE TO OBTAIN THE ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS ON THIS APPLICATION. HE/SHE REPRESENTS THAT THE ANSWERS ARE TRUE, CORRECT AND COMPLETE TO THE BEST OF HIS/HER KNOWLEDGE.
Policies are 100% minimum earned. No refunds will be given.
The Handcrafted Soap and Cosmetic Guild is not a licensed insurance agent. This insurance is provided through Veracity Insurance Solutions, LLC.
Electronic Delivery Statement
HSCG sends two types of emails: transaction emails (policy confirmations, payment notifications, and password resets) and customer service emails (policy reminders, HSCG announcements, marketing, and feedback requests) to maintain your policy and the HSCG program.
HSCG does not participate in third-party marketing, selling email addresses, or spamming.
If you feel you have you received an email in error, you may unsubscribe from customer service emails, change your email preferences online, or contact us to voice your concerns.
We may use customer information for the purpose of obtaining reviews about the services and programs that we provide. This may include, but is not limited to, giving customers’ names and email addresses to third parties to facilitate and contact customers to obtain reviews. Customer information sent to third parties will be used solely for the purposes of gathering and managing feedback, or as required by law or by any court of competent jurisdiction. Reviews provided by customers may be published online and submitted to search engines. Customers may be contacted by a third party review service, but are under no obligation to provide a review.
Communications With HSCG
By sending information to us through phone, email, application or any other form, you consent to receive telephone calls, emails, text messages, mailers, or other similar communications in connection with these goods and services. Even if your phone number is on any "not call" list.
Consent To Receive Electronic Copies of Insurance Documents
By signing up for our Services, you consent to receive all insurance documents in electronic form only. A paper copy of any document may be requested. A fee may be applied to request such copies. You may make such requests by notifying us through phone or email. Official policy notices and documents will be sent solely and directly to you and will not be emailed to other users.
TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR PAPERLESS DELIVERY OF COMMUNICATIONS FOR COMMERCIAL INSUREDS
You are agreeing that documents and official notices which you are required to receive may be sent to you electronically rather than in paper form. You agree these paperless communications are the legal equivalent of officially required communications relating to your policy(ies) which you would otherwise receive in paper form. These communications may include, but are not limited to, policy declarations, policy forms and endorsements and related forms, insurance ID cards, billing statements, legally required notices, and other official correspondence. You agree to receive all communications electronically, of which may even include cancellations or non renewal notices.
