The Executive Director is hired by the Board of Directors and oversees all the operations of the HSCG, including the hiring and firing of staff and independent contractors. The duties of the Executive Director are detailed in the HSCG Bylaws and as directed by the President and/or Board of Directors.

Leigh O'Donnell has been the HSCG Executive Director since 2011. She oversees the day-to-day operations of the HSCG, plans the Annual Conference, advises the Board of Directors, and is a key driving force in developing and implementing the strategic goals and objectives of the HSCG. In addition, Leigh has been our legislative point-person since 2009.

Sara handles social media content and curates the How-To Library, eZine and blog, assists Leigh with the Annual Conference, and supervises day-to-day activities at HSCG Headquarters. 

As the HSCG Member Experience Coordinator, Kristine answers phone calls and emails from Members and non-Members and helps with questions involving benefits, insurance, conference, and more! Kristine also fulfills merchandise orders, handles the weekly mailings, and makes sure that memberships are processed expediently and accurately. Kristine is also heading up the HSCG's Certification and Local Chapter programs - If you have questions about your membership, insurance, Certification, Local Chapters,  etc., Kristine will be happy to assist you!

As the HSCG Program Coordinator, Camryn will be answering phone calls, and reaching out to members to help them renew. Camryn will also be spearheading several upcoming social projects to help members connect with consumers and get the public excited about our industry!

Marie Gale is an industry expert with decades of experience in compliance and labeling for soap and cosmetic makers. Marie has worked extensively on assets for the HSCG including our MoCRA resources and the Ingredient Lookup tool.

In her role as the HSCG Compliance Resource Specialist, Marie will host MoCRA Mondays starting at 12 PM EST each Monday in our Member's Discussion Group on Facebook, and will also answer questions sent to mocra@soapguild.org; if you have any questions about these regulations, Marie is an excellent resource to help you understand what you need to do to be compliant.
